Mrs. Cheryl Turk -- MTSS Coordinator - Room 104
Hello Homer-Center Wildcats!
The 2022-2023 school year marks the second year for our MTSS program.
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is a framework that helps the Homer-Center Faculty identify and service each of our student's academic, behavioral, and/or social emotional needs. As a result of various screeners, students receive differentiated support or enrichment during their scheduled What I Need (WIN) times.
This year, our MTSS Team will continue to solidify the MTSS program. Academically, we will analyze, pilot, and commit to research-based reading and math interventions. Behaviorally, we will implement a newly modified version of our positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) program, ROAR. Social Emotionally, all students will participate in a newly adopted program called PATHS (promoting alternative thinking strategies).
Homer-Center Elementary Faculty and Staff are committed to working toward maximizing each student's ability to succeed. As MTSS Coordinator I will oversee programs, collect and organize data, build learning groups, and work directly with students.
I am excited to see our new programs in action, and I anticipate a productive 2022-2023 school year!
