Principal's Message
A Message from Elementary School Principal Beth Genchur
Dear Families, Students, and Community Members,
Welcome to a brand new school year! I hope your summer was filled with fun, relaxation, and special moments with those love. As we prepare to open our doors for the 2025–2026 school year, I want to express how excited I am for the year ahead! A new year brings a fresh start, new opportunities, and the promise of continued growth. I am truly looking forward to the energy, curiosity, and joy that our students bring with them each day.
This year, we are proud to launch a new reading program in all grades: HMH Into Reading. This comprehensive literacy program was piloted by several of our teachers last year, and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. They felt that HMH Into Reading aligned well with the needs of our students and the goals of our district. We believe this new curriculum will support our students in becoming confident, skilled readers, and we are eager to see the progress they will make.
To support every student’s success, we will continue to provide time for What I Need, more commonly known to students as WIN. This flexible block allows us to offer both targeted intervention and enrichment in reading and math, ensuring that each child receives the support or challenge they need. We are also continuing our School-Wide Positive Behavior Support program, known as ROAR—where students learn and live out expectations through Responsibility, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect. In addition, our social-emotional learning curriculum, PATHS, helps students develop emotional awareness, problem-solving skills, and strong relationships. We also offer after-school tutoring, school-based counseling during the day, and a collection of family support resources for those in need.
We believe deeply in the power of home-school partnerships. Families are a vital part of our learning community, and we encourage you to stay connected in any way that works for you. Whether attending conferences, joining the PTA, volunteering from home, or participating in our parent workshops, your involvement matters. Please be sure to sign up for our Friday Folder communications so you stay informed about upcoming events, activities, and opportunities for both you and your child throughout the year. Together, we can create a school environment where every child feels supported, encouraged, and ready to learn.
As we begin this new journey together, please know that I am here to support your family. I look forward to the year ahead and the opportunity to work alongside you to help your child thrive. My door is always open—please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to meet.
Warmly,
Mrs. Genchur
